What Does Part C Include?

Medicare Advantage Plans Explained

Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans are all-in-one alternatives to Original Medicare, offered by private insurance companies. They include all the coverage of Parts A and B, and most plans also include Part D prescription coverage (MAPD plans).

Many Medicare Advantage plans also offer extra benefits Original Medicare doesn’t provide — like dental, vision, hearing aids, gym memberships, and more. In Kerrville and across the Hill Country, these plans offer coordinated care that fits a variety of budgets and health needs.

Know the Trade-Offs

Pros & Cons of Medicare Advantage
  • Combines hospital, medical, and usually drug coverage

  • Annual out-of-pocket cap (unlike Original Medicare)

  • May have $0 or low premiums

  • Requires using a network (HMO or PPO)

Medicare Advantage plans often use provider networks, so it’s important to confirm your doctors and hospitals accept the plan. Some areas of Texas — especially outside metro regions like San Antonio — may have fewer in-network providers.

Still, these plans offer important benefits like bundled drug coverage and a spending cap. Our agents walk you through your options.

Not all Medicare Advantage plans are the same. Differences in networks, copays, drug formularies, and out-of-pocket limits can affect your coverage and costs. Our agents help you evaluate:

  • Are your doctors in-network?
  • Are your medications covered?
  • How much will you pay for common services?

You can enroll when you’re first eligible for Medicare, or change plans during the Annual Enrollment Period (Oct 15 – Dec 7). We also offer yearly reviews to help you keep the best plan.
